Pain of abuse stays forever / Sunday World

Pain of abuse stays forever / Sunday World

Just wondering if the police realised they could unleash a tsunami of emotions when contacting victims?  Do they offer ENOUGH support.  Are they willing to help the victim?

Seems to me that this man was really NOT ready or able to go through criminal proceedings...but probably felt guilt if he refused.

Is the end result 'worth it'?  could the abuser have been dealt with in another way/

The article leaves me profoundly concerned about 'fragile' victims...

Wishing my friend Ruth McNeely in Mayo a fab retirement . Hoping she'll rest & enjoy.  She deserves it. Years of dedication, hard work in a most distressing area of work.  good Luck Ruth

sick of the mis-information flying around about her and this guy, 'fr' Cleary.
